NFL Week 5 Preview: Exciting Match-ups Await, with Bills at Chiefs a Highlight

Our resident NFL writer Liz Bhandari from NFLGirlUK.com is back and she thinks week 5 is going to be jam-packed with excitement!

Kansas City Chiefs versus the Buffalo Bills in the NFL

Week 4 has come and gone, leaving many fans either happy about their teams’ recent performance or begging for a chance in the coming weeks. Week 5 should be better though, as teams look to keep building and improve as the season progresses. We have a load of exciting matchups on the NFL schedule this weekend, let’s dive right into what we feel have the potential to be the best games!

Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs

This is going to be one incredibly exciting matchup. The Buffalo Bills dropped their season opener but have since shutout the Miami Dolphins 35-0 and the Houston Texans 40-0. This group is seriously clicking right now behind the superstar play of their quarterback Josh Allen and their lightning quick defense. The Chiefs are a test that is a big leap above their last couple of opponents thought and could challenge them for the top spot in the AFC. Kansas City is still one of the best offenses in the entire league right now with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill there but defensively they could be considered one of the worst. Their secondary is getting lit up by opposing passing games and their pass rush doesn’t seem to be consistent whatsoever. Matchups like this are always tough to call with each of them boasting superstar quarterbacks. However, I think you can definitely expect a handful of passing touchdowns in this contest especially after Mahomes threw five against the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend. I would bet that both Allen and Mahomes combine for over five passing touchdowns in this game, causing the score to be pretty high scoring as neither team will end up stopping the other much.

Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Well, this game likely wouldn’t have found itself here if the Tennessee Titans didn’t lose to the New York Jets last weekend. Now this game gets incredibly interesting. We all kind of had a feeling that the Titans were horrific on the defensive end, but we didn’t know they were that bad. Zach Wilson and company were constantly marching down field, and the pass rush was not getting to him despite their offensive line being terrible all year long. Yes, the Titans were without A.J. Brown and Julio Jones in this game but that shouldn’t have mattered much. Jacksonville on the other hand choked a 14-point lead against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night to fall to 0-4 on the year. Trevor Lawrence seemed to settle in a bit more and the team finally relied upon the skills of James Robinson. Coaching is pretty bad overall for Jacksonville right now so it will be hard to win this game but with the Titans choking last week anything can happen. One thing to expect from this game is a heavy reliance on the running game. As opposed to the previous matchup we talked about, both teams are going to want to get a run game going, especially if those wideouts for the Titans remain out with injuries. I can see Derrick Henry and Robinson going for over 100 yards each with them both picking up touchdowns along the way.

San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals

This game will end up being one sided in my opinion. The world was able to see how serious this Arizona Cardinals team really is. They completely destroyed the Los Angeles Rams last weekend, surprising a good amount of people. Kyler Murray continues his MVP case and their defense rises to the occasion once more. The San Francisco 49ers on the other hand were outplayed in every way by the Seattle Seahawks last weekend but hope to rebound. Let’s face it though, their team has just not played on the level that the Cards have this year. Also, we have to factor in Jimmy Garoppolo possibly missing this game and Trey Lance getting the start. Either way, I think the Cardinals are a lock this weekend, as they should handily win this contest.
