Fulham will be eyeing a return to winning ways when they take on Sheffield United in the Championship.

Marco Silva

After four games without a win, Fulham are back in action on Monday evening and will be eager to grab three points against Sheffield United.

With a slightly decimated Championship fixture schedule due to Covid-19, it is the ideal weekend for teams to steal a march on their rivals and climb up the table.

Fulham and Bournemouth occupy the top two spots but neither side have been in good form, with the Cherries’ winless record even longer at five games.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table, Peterborough will be hoping to escape the relegation zone as they face fellow promoted side Blackpool.

Nothing to Separate Cottagers and Blades

Fulham have drawn each of their last four matches in what has been a frustrating period for the Cottagers.

Prior to that, Marco Silva’s men had won seven on the bounce in the Championship and were looking well on course for an immediate return to the Premier League.

However, the goals have slightly dried up with top-scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic only registering one in his last four games.

Sheffield United go into the game on the back of three straight wins with Paul Heckingbottom enjoying a good start to life at Bramall Lane having replaced Slavisa Jokanovic in the job.

They will also be fresh after not playing since December 4 and a run of just one loss in five away matches means they could viably take something from West London.

A draw can be backed at 14/5.

Improving Boro To Add To Cherries’ Woes

Like Fulham, Bournemouth made a very strong start to the season and the automatic promotion places almost looked to be sealed up around a month ago.

Scott Parker has done a fine job so far but now needs to negotiate a potentially tricky path to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

They face Chris Wilder’s Middlesbrough on Saturday in what will be a very difficult examination for the Cherries.

The ex-Sheffield United boss had had a good start to life at Boro, losing only one of his five league games in charge.

He has worked to make them a more solid outfit and, like Fulham, this may be a game where a point goes down as a good result – a draw is available at 12/5.

Posh To Kickstart Survival Charge

Peterborough are currently 22nd in the Championship and have struggled upon their return to the second tier.

Darren Ferguson’s men are usually full of goals but only Barnsley and Derby have a worse goalscoring record this season.

However, they secured a vital comeback win against Millwall last week and are two points behind Reading in 21st.

A trip to the seaside to face Blackpool may have come at a good time – Neil Critchley’s men have been the best of the promoted teams this season as they sit 17th, but are winless in seven.

They have lost each of their last three and Peterborough are available at 49/20 to extend that run.
