Action from Lingfield Park Racecourse

An afternoon of jumps fare from Lingfield is coming up on Tuesday, with a seven-race card from 12.53 through until 3.58. Amongst the highlights, Jonjo O’Neill sends a recent bumper winner over hurdles for the first time.

12.53 – Visit Intermediate Open NH Flat Race (2m)

A bumper on the all-weather track to get the card underway and one in which RESTANDBETHANKFUL will have designs on making it 2-2 despite the penalty for his Perth win in September on debut. Olly Murphy’s charge looked quite promising there and showed a good attitude when challenged. Newcomers Gamalou D’ale and Brother Windsor are worth inspection in the betting.

Selection: Restandbethankful @ 8/11

1.23 – Chris Young Memorial ‘National Hunt’ EBF Novices’ Hurdle (2m3½f)

Big Bresil was a winner on hurdling debut at Exeter in the spring on heavy ground and has scope for better but that form isn’t the strongest and Tom George’s runner is conceding weight and race-fitness to recent bumper scorer RABSKI now. Jonjo O’Neill’s gelding was a bit keen at Ffos Las but got the job done no less and there could be plenty more to come from him now upped in distance going over sticks.

Selection: Rabski @ 3/1

1.53 – Free Tips Daily On Novices’ Handicap Chase (2m7½f)

Silent Encore heads the early betting but he’s currently 0-23 and probably worth taking on as such, despite going close at Huntingdon last time. TRACTOR FRED is capable of going well off a layoff, as he did last season on debut for this trainer over 3m on his first chase start. He couldn’t get his head in front after that but returns from a wind op on a decent mark with Ben Hicks taking a further 7lb off as he drops in class.

Selection: Tractor Fred @ 13/2

2.23 – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Novices’ Handicap Hurdle (2m)

RUFIO shaped quite nicely last month at Uttoxeter on his first start after wind surgery, finishing third behind the easy Dan Skelton-trained winner Wilde About Oscar, which hosed up at Aintree on Saturday and looks to be going places. With that run in the bank, Harry Fry’s charge should be ready to go now off an opening mark of 106 in this modest event.

Selection: Rufio @ 5/2

2.53 – Handicap Chase (2m4f)

Any money for the long-absent Muilean Na Madog would command interest starting out for a top yard, while the first day back might the time to catch Big Time Frank in his continuing pursuit of a win. AVOIR DE SOINS didn’t get beyond the first obstacle at Plumpton last week but he had been prominent in the betting and with Anthony Honeyball’s team in scintillating form, he might get compensation.

Selection: Avoir De Soins @ 13/2

3.23 – Weatherbys Racing Diaries Handicap Hurdle (2m7f)

After winning a 2m4f novice contest at Perth in September in good style (adding to an earlier win at Exeter over further in the spring) connections of GETAROUND opted for a cut at the Grade 2 Persian War at Chepstow last month. That proved too hot a contest, mostly down to the presence of talented winner McFabulous for Paul Nicholls, but this represents a drop in class and with Bryan Carver claiming 5lb, this improving five-year-old may grasp the chance to make it three wins in four.

Selection: Getaround @ 11/4

3.58 – Follow At The Races On Twitter Handicap Chase (2m)

DESQUE DE L’ISLE never saw a rival when scoring over C&D last month, positively ridden and finding plenty for Charlie Deutsch when asked. He’s gone up 9lb for the win but still makes most appeal amongst this field for the follow-up attempt.

Selection: Desque De L’Isle @ 1/2
