Doncaster Racecourse

Doncaster Racecourse

Home of the world’s oldest Classic contest, Doncaster is the spiritual home of racing in northern England and a much-revered track. The St Leger has been running at Doncaster in the autumn since all the way back in 1776.

Town Moor, as it is affectionately known, holds a prominent place in Britain’s Flat racing calendar staging the Lincoln Meeting in March and the November Handicap as winter sets in – the first and last meetings of the Flat turf season respectively.

The left-handed and galloping circuit is mostly flat in nature and is widely regarded to be one of the fairest tracks in the United Kingdom. There is a straight course from 5f-1m and with good drainage the turf tends to offer a fair racing surface on most occasions.
