Find out whether Hayley can predict some more winners from the racing on Day 2 of the Royal Ascot festival.

Sir Busker in horse racing action

Battaash was a brilliant winner yesterday (Editor’s note: as predicted by Hayley!) and he really deserved to finally win a Group 1 at Royal Ascot. I can’t wait to get to Ascot tomorrow where I will hopefully have two rides. I definitely ride Ornassis in the Sandingham Handicap for Charlie Fellows and I will ride for Andrew Balding in the opening race if my horse gets in. We are currently first reserve so we need one non-runner!

1:15 Ascot: Silver Royal Hunt Cup Handicap

The opening race yesterday was on the straight course and the high numbers did best with the winner and 2nd coming up the stand side. One of my first rides back this season was up at Newcastle on George Scott’s Comin’ Through and SIR BUSKER (11/1**) won that race having been slowly away. It rode like a good race and the front pair were well clear. The stiff mile at Ascot should suit him and Oisin is an eye-catching booking.

1:50 Ascot: Hampton Court Stakes

JUAN ELCANO (7/2) came 5th in the 2000 Guineas behind Kameko, which represents very solid form. He looked like he just lacked that turn of foot to be effective over 1 mile so the extra 2 furlongs here will really suit him.

3:00 Prince Of Wales’ Stakes

JAPAN (11/8) is a typical Galileo improver. He won very easily in the King Edward Stakes at Royal Ascot last year so we know the track suits him well. He hasn’t been seen since finishing 4th in the Arc in the Autumn and it looked like the rain-softened ground that day just stretched his stamina a bit much over 1m 4f so I think the drop back to 10f will play to his strengths.
