Aintree’s Ladies Day is full of colour, style and fashion and celebrates the individuality and creativity of the thousands of racegoers that descend on the track. All things style and fashion are in the spotlight, which they share with another high-class seven-race card on the turf.
Again there are four Grade 1 races to savour, with the Top Novices’ Hurdle kicking off the top-level action. The Mildmay Novices’ Chase and the Sefton Novices’ Hurdle are also up for grabs, with £500,000 in prize money in the Grade 1s alone.
The feature race on day two at Aintree is the Melling Chase – carrying its name from the road that intersects the racecourse.
The main course is served on Saturday evening, with The Grand National now positioned in a tea-time slot that maximises a television audience in Britain and so much further afield.

As with the other days of the festival, Grade 1 action is in plentiful supply with the Mersey Novices’ Hurdle, the Maghull Novices’ Chase and the Liverpool Stayers’ Hurdle all preceding the biggest race in the calendar.
